It was at the age of 12 that Julie Roussin first discovered pottery though her childhood friend’s mother. But the young girl did not focus on this first experience, but rather pursued a path that would take her to university to study psychology and then a job in social work.

“I liked my work, but something deep inside of me said that I had missed my true vocation”, she explains. Her childhood memories came flooding back and Julie decided to train with experienced potters in order to understand all the aspects of the craft.

Then, chance brought her into contact with a young cutler who, like her, had been exposed to his craft as a young person and who had just set up a workshop in the village of Sari d'Orcino. The young women took the step, crossing the sea to share her life and workshop with Bertrand (Filhol). Strengthened by their partnership, the young couple takes pleasure in showing off their creations: pottery and knives, to visitors who are lucky enough to discover in one place two different, yet complementary, artistic practices.
