Jean-Baptiste De Peretti Della Rocca is a man of conviction. And it is with commitment and determination that, following the division of the family land, he settles into his future estate in 2003. And the following year, he’s a farmer! Or, more specifically a cowherd.
But then his desire to run a vineyard resurfaces. “It was something that I had wanted to do for a long time!” says Jean-Baptiste. I started off by planting three hectares of endemic grape varieties in 2013,” he continues. Today, six hectares are in production and a new plot will produce the first white wine in 2021,” says the jovial wine-grower excitedly. Quality, typicality and sincerity (the grapes are harvested by hand) are the key words for Famidda De Perreti Della Rocca.
Just like the caseddi, where Jean-Baptiste offers visitors tranquility and authenticity. “I like the consistency between opinions, actions and choices. I felt it was important to offer visitors a space that was elegant and allowed them to experience being at the heart of nature.” Overlooking Jean-Baptiste’s vineyard, Corsica offers the most beautiful thing it has: paci (peace).
