Unconditional love for animals... This is what Dominique Chabas devoted her new life to, leaving her former job as an assistant accountant secretary in Marseille behind. She moved to Corsica in 2005 and no sooner had she set her suitcases down, she decided to take an agricultural training course at the college of Borgo. “My father was a farmer,” says Dominique, “we were always surrounded by animals. But I still had no idea about how to actually be a farmer!”

Graduating in 2007, Dominique discovered the techniques of sheep farming in the field. But she quickly abandoned sheep in favour of goats, a demanding ancestral island tradition. “I immediately enjoyed benig around this animal! I realised that an amazing attachment could be created naturally!” she says enthusiastically. I knew that I had finally found my path.”

Dominique is patiently waiting for her permanent facility while raising her first 50 animals... with a feeding bottle! A true mum to this flock which now numbers 120 goats. A new dairy is also in the pipeline. The path is all mapped out for cheerful Dominique!
