~~Permaculture is a method of designing systems that are closely linked with natural ecology and tradition. Inspired by the workings of Nature, this is the mark of the Ferme de la Conca d’Oru established by Paul Proto in the plains of Nebbiu. “With 1000m2 of space, this micro-farm retains a human touch but also, amazingly enough, a high yield potential!”

After plenty of reading on the subject, and by looking at examples of known farms, the farmer opened his poultry farm in April 2016. Two hundred and fifty chickens bring happiness at the Bastia market and are also sold directly at the farm. The garden is built slowly and serenely in line with Mother Nature.

“It is vital that we rediscover the desire to eat as we did forty years ago. Eating seasonal vegetables, rediscovering old and country varieties that are high in nutrients, that’s what positive eating means,” says the passionate farmer (who is also a fan of country dancing!) before concluding: “Monoculture is what kills!”
