If it's authenticity you're after... Take the D71 from Ponte Leccia, pass through Morosaglia – the birthplace of the illustrious Pasquale Paoli, "Father of the Homeland" - and weave your way to the heart of la Castagniccia, heading towards Valle d'Orezza. Over the centuries, the chestnut trees of this region have provided inhabitants not only with food but also the raw materials with which to establish the Orezza furniture tradition.

And it's for this reason that Pantaleon Alessandri chose to reside here in Pietricaggio at the foot of San Pedrone, surrounded by history and tradition in the tiny hamlet of Nocario, a listed classified feature of Corsica's regional nature park. He restores and produces his items in his workshop, where he remains true to established furniture methods, including traditional furniture (beds, chairs, tables, chests, kneading troughs, etc.) and church pieces, as well as small everyday objects (small mortars, pulendaghji, etc.) which together create a rich heritage for future generations.
As president of the I Legni di Castagniccia, association, Pantaleon was responsible for establishing a sawmill aimed at developing the local wood trade (not only Chestnut, but also Olive, Walnut, Beech, Alder, Basswood, Pine Laricio Pine, etc.).

This truly committed man demonstrates an impressive love of his region through his unwavering devotion to preserving its identity and traditions. A wonderful union.
