Located in the Aleria uplands, the little E Petre domaine is forging a well-tempered identity  for itself! Marie-Françoise and Pierre Garcia’s winery has a traditional and authentic structure with, for example, a real “palmentu” (fermenting vat). “Our red wine-making process is in the traditional style. We opted for tradition aided by modern technology!” says Marie-Françoise. “We never would have thought of bottling wine ourselves,” she adds. “It was our children who encouraged us to try our luck!” adds Pierre joyously.

In 1970, the production was reserved for family consumption. Marie-Françoise and her father, Pierre-Joseph, planted 73 ares - the domaine now amounts to 77ares. Peter soon became responsible for it. The former dentist learned to prune and harvest the vine, alongside other ancestral practices by his stepfather’s side. 43 years of experience! “Soon after, I wanted to craft a wine to my own taste, far from the standards,” enthuses Peter, “with grape varieties that I have a liking for such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Cinsault, mixed with native grape varieties.” The domaine’s first vintage was released in 2010. Four years later, Petre E wine can be found on tables in Japan and Luxembourg! The future still seems to have some surprises in store for him!
