Corsican essential oils
Naturally Organic
Plants and flowers from Corsica's shrubland have been used for medicinal purposes throughout the island’s history.
The diversity and individuality of the island's perfectly preserved flora present a plethora of species which can be distilled for essential oil production: The Everlasting Flower (Murza), Myrtle (Morta), Rosemary (Rosumarinu), Corsican Pine, (Lariciu), Dwarf Juniper (Astratella), Pistacia lentiscus (Listincu), Fennel (Finochju), Criste marine (Baschichja)...
This richness in flora, combined with a comprehensive mastery of plant life cycles, harvesting periods and distillation processes guarantee the unique quality of this product. Harvesting is officially regulated to maintain this natural Corsican resource. It is managed according to specifications specifying the frequency of harvesting, correct timings, which parts to pick and how much to leave behind to allow for future reproduction.
Essential citrus oils have recently been added, broadening the aromatic and medicinal plant range. Oil can be extracted from the zest (clementine essential oil) or leaves (clementine sapling).
It is worth noting that all Corsican essential oils have been granted the Agriculture Biologique organic seal of approval.
Essential oils are used in aromatherapy, medicine, cosmetics, perfumery and occasionally for culinary purposes.
The water used in distillation is completely additive-free while the "eaux florales” made from Corsican essential oil extraction are also of the highest quality, rounding off the product range superbly.
