If wine produced in a cooperative way has long been a victim of misleading clichés, it has now found pride of place thanks to initiatives such as the Union des Vignerons de l’Île de Beauté (UVIB – Winemakers’ Union of the Isle of Beauty).
In 20 years of existence, the association’s pedigree has been supplied to products with character and a unique taste. Several lines are now available in two shops owned by the UVIB (in Aleria and Arena).

Éric Pinelli, Deputy Director of Administration and Finance, is proud of the contribution made by this gathering of winemakers. “Today, we present PDO and IGP wines. With an exclusive: the only sparkling Muscat made entirely in Corsica – from its vinification to its bottling. 100% made in Corsica!”

For this former Statutory Auditor, it was essential to boost communication with customers and to enhance the expertise of cooperative winemakers. “We also make good wine! I am firmly attached to the image for viticulture in the region conveyed by the UVIB .”

Convinced by the economic development of Corsica’s Eastern Plain, Éric manages the “Vignerons de l’Île de Beauté” shop, which plays a part in the expansion of direct sales, a direct connection between the producers of grapes and the wine-loving customer.

Gone are the false reputation, preconceptions and reticence: the UVIB is proof that in Corsica, all wineries shine!
