Following an intensive law course, for a whole year Valérie Giudicelli worked as a lawyer in Nice. The very same year “her eyes were opened” to the realisation that her future was not the one that she seemed destined for after her degree. “The main advantage of my training for the vineyard is that, legally speaking, I find the right solutions fairly easily!” jokes Valérie.

So, in 2007, she decided to join her father on the East coast. Antoine-Jacques had owned this estate since 1960. In 1950, he was the first wine-grower to design a completely automatic cellar - from the press to the vat - in Venzolasca, in the Casinca region. “I remember really well visiting it as a child with my father. He carefully explained all the stages the wine went through, before it was bottled. I am sure that it was then that I was bitten by the bug.” Antoine-Jacques is still active in the vineyard, whilst Valérie is responsible for the wine-making process and maintenance of the estate. “I have always practised processes that follow natural cycles. For example, the relationship with the moon for size; low intervention treatments when repairing or gentle weeding. Biodynamics in sync with Nature!” The Costa Verde Estate now counts five production hectares.
