Isabelle Courrèges’ wine=making story starts with her father, who left his Algerian vineyard for the shores of Corsica in the '60s to establish the Domaine de Pratavone. Not far away from the Porto-Pollo bay, he found the same sun-bathed earth, which has proven so suitable for vine growth. Isabelle fell into wine growing very quickly but tried to distance herself from her father at first, in order to perfect her education in other wine regions around the globe.

But at the beginning of the 1990s, the desire to come back to Corsica and work alongside her father grew strong. “At first, it wasn’t necessarily easy working by his side. He had his way of doing things and sometimes we had differences”, says the winemaker.

But the love for wine that they shared allowed them to form a perfect blend between the father’s invaluable experience, and the daughter’s innovative ideas. The result is a renowned vineyard, of which Isabelle is now solely in charge. A new, ultramodern winery, new packaging and increasingly subtle wines, the Domaine de Pratavone is permanently and firmly established in the island winemaking landscape.
