The lovely Sant Armettu vineyard was established by Paul Seroin in the 1960s, in the heart of the "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée for Sartène wines" (PDO Sartène). This land owes its name to a hermit botanist who, it is said, possessed the gift of healing. This “Saint Hermit” would certainly not have disliked the subtle fruity wines from the Domaine Sant Armettu. The vines, planted in staggered terraces on the hillside overlooking the Propriano bay, are enhanced by the influence of the sea breezes and are grown and picked traditionally, without herbicides or pesticides.
Although the first decades were devoted to production for the Sartène cooperative, since 1996, the year the winery was established, Paul and his son Gilles Seroin, carefully have looked after and vinified what the vineyard produces. Since 2008, the domaine has also produced olive oil, which is a delight for gourmets, and it now also has a beautiful cottage rental built on the remains of the old hermit’s shelter.
As he did in his time, the two Seroins, father and son, concoct beautiful beverages that delight the domaine’s visitors. Mino, Ondale, Minustrellu, Pivarella, Rosumarinu, A Maredda, Myrtus. with such a beautiful variety of wines, it’s hard to choose just one!
