Let's talk to the youngest son from the Arena family, Antoine-Marie. Good choice! Although that is to be expected from a family that has been making wine for generations.

“The title of 'farmer and wine-grower' is sacred to me,” confides ultra-dynamic Antoine-Marie, the youngest son and (almost) young man of 38. “This tradition requires constant work among the vines, and being well grounded.” This hard work results in a mastery of the chalky, shaly soils typical of the Nebbiu region. In 1995, the whole estate—which includes plots belonging to his father and his brother, Jean-Baptiste—committed to a shift towards a wholly natural approach, a philosophy that would lead to obtaining the AB (Agriculture Biologique – Organic Farming) label.

“The vines have always been managed with a respect for nature, from the terroir to the cellar; no oenological products are used. This is the very essence of our process,” adds Antoine-Marie. This high standard is bolstered by robust family support, particularly from his wife Sandra, who is truly his partner in crime. The couple plans to increase bottle production, add a new plot of land with Niellucciu grapes to the existing six hectares, and add olive trees to the mix to bring diversity to the landscape. There’s no way the Arena family is slowing down!
