Everything started for this trio with a meeting and a common goal. Alexandine and Antoine Massoni weren’t afraid to make their dream a reality: the couple owned a pizzeria in Galeria, but in the early 90s Antoine’s pastoral family traditions began to loom large over their daily life, and it wasn’t long before the young man gave in and answered the call. In 1995 he set up a small farming operation in Galeria, with Alexandrine at his side, eager to take on a new adventure. Later the farm moved to Calenzana, where the couple would stay for twelve years. “Deep down, being a farmer has always been Antoine’s job. Even as a child he was making sheep-milk cheeses with a little guidance from his grandparents; as for me, I learned by watching him, and listening,” explains an energetic Alexandrine. Two years ago, the farming operation became "Gaec U Pastore" and Paul-Noël, the couple’s eldest son, joined the family business. His little brother Nicolas will soon join in as well, though the younger son’s current occupation is herding goats rather than sheep.
The family’s future projects aim to enlarge their flock and begin to export their products, sharing the "U Pastore" spirit as far and wide as they can.
