~~Whether you find him in summer chatting with holidaymakers in his inn on the road leading from Porto to Calvi or in winter leading his flock in the village of Evisa, you will certainly not forget meeting Pierre Luisi, “the herder by profession”!

This is a character that Corsica still keep secret! If you look at ancient photographs of Corsican herder with their dark and mysterious looks, striking gaze, long beards and shaggy hair, you will definitely see a resemblance to Pierre Luisi.

Don’t be afraid to chat to him! Beneath the herder’s costume is a warm and generous man. Definitely more comfortable with his goats than with his fellow man, his wife is in charge of welcoming visitors while he is in charge of monitoring and handling his flock.

But the solitary herder isn’t averse to coming and playing host amongst the tables in his lovely stone inn once in a while, where one can stop specially to try his cheeses and his homemade charcuterie. The most important thing is the quality of the products that Pierre Luisi strives to offer his customers.

There is no place for local folklore here, the care he gives to his animals as well as the excellence of his cheeses and brocciu are the cardinal virtues that he will never abandon!
