Childhood dreams can be very persistent and despite detours imposed by the random nature of real life, some people still manage to fulfil them eventually. This was what happened to Cédric Raffini, a young shepherd in the Cinarca Valley. “When I was very young. I used to follow my father, who was a shepherd, and watch my mother making Brocciu and cheese. I knew what I wanted to do”, says the young man. However, when it was time for careers advice, a different path was marked out for him. “The careers advisors dissuaded me from going down this road and managed to convince my parents that this was the best decision for me”.
Reluctantly, Cédric Raffini agreed, and went into administration. For more than ten years, he carried out his daily work without any real enthusiasm, but when Cédric’s father retired, the former little shepherd came back to the fore and Cédric decided to go back to the life from which he had been deflected. “I was not unhappy, yet I still felt that I had wasted ten years of my life”, he confessed, albeit without much bitterness. Now he is enjoying rediscovering the landmarks and signposts of his childhood to the full. “Now I am happy and my head is full of projects such as building my new dairy.” As we all know, “Where there’s a will there’s a way!”
