Élodie Durizi is the worthy heir from four generations of breeders and winemakers. It was with a firm desire to manage the entire production chain that this young woman set up her own sheep pen in 2017 following her further studies in Management Sciences. “In addition to having been immersed in this environment since my childhood, this education has definitely helped with production stage, right up to the commercialisation stage. The original desire was to create an authentic farmhouse cheese,” says Élodie.

To achieve this, she optimises the farm - which today has 450 ewes(!) - making it self-sufficient in terms of food, and it is equipped with a natural ageing cellar, with plans for a future European standard-compliant cheese factory within two years. “Marcel Maestrini, a family friend and citrus producer in Antisanti, has taught me everything there is to know. His advice has been invaluable and I try to put it into practice as well as I can!”

She appreciates this friendly help. She can also rely on the unwavering support of her brother, Félix, who has taken over the family vineyard. The Durizi siblings still have some wonderful treats to come!
