Appearances can often be deceiving! Bear this in mind if, one day, you're near the village of Guagno and happen across a white-bearded giant with a penetrating stare. You have no need to be afraid as what he boasts in size and stature is perfectly matched by his warm and friendly personality!
Jean-Claude Leca is a well-known local character, a true grafter who has fought relentlessly for the promotion of Corsican pork as well as good quality charcuterie production in a clean and safe environment.
Before raising pigs, however, he spent many years roaming the island's mountainous terrain. During his time as a mountain guide he explored every single inch of his local terrain. And even today, when you visit his smallholding, he will be more than happy to tell you the name of a summit, point out the location of a lake or describe where you might find an ancient oak tree.
It must be Jean-Claude Leca's wonderful depth of narrative that has made him such a vibrant and colourful element of Corsica's rich tapestry over these past thirty years. Come summer, his voice can be heard far beyond the realms of his village, whispering secrets of the mountain to all those willing to listen!
