Jean-Paul Mancel is active on all fronts! A clementine and grapefruit producer since 1981 and more recently a producer of hazelnuts, he’s also President of the asociation for the promotion and defence of the Corsican clementine (APRODEC - Association pour la Promotion et la Défense de la Clémentine de Corse), whose mission is to manage the Protected Geographical Indication – PGI – “Corsican Clementine”, “Corsican Grapefruit” and “Cervioni Hazelnut”. He’s also owned two holiday rental cottages for 13 years now! “In the early days, I lived on the farm itself. This house was mine! I thought it was a shame to let it deteriorate and not allow others to appreciate it.”

Jean-Paul, who is committed to sustainable farming, is now embarking on the development of holiday-rental cottages for up to ten people (something that comes quite easy for this former real-estate agent! In fact, Jean-Paul has multiplied both the features and assets!) “It was very important for me to create a friendly atmosphere at the heart of an agricultural property,” says Jean-Paul. “Over the years, visitors have become loyal guests or even friends in some cases. Some come back every year!” For Jean-Paul, “we build one’s clientele” via sharing and cordiality. “Never rest on your laurels!” A wise motto that pays off because the Valle di Campuloru gîtes are occupied most of the time!
