Initially there was nothing to predestine this computer technician to work in agriculture. But one day, the desire to change the course of his life by connecting more closely with what he saw as the most essential values pushed Olivier Segonne to undergo a complete career change. “We started with the fruits from the traditional orchards that already existed and then, gradually, we were able to buy land and the operation expanded.”

Today, it covers around 40 hectares, with a very varied and entirely organic fruit and vegetable production. “From planting to processing, we remain organic, including the choice of sugar for our jams. We are bound by the specifications of the Organic certification but, even without it, we would have made the choice to offer products that align with our idea of healthy and environmentally-friendly agriculture.

Olivier cares about the diversity of cultivation. Here there are thirty-five varieties of tomatoes, over there, there are yellow or green courgettes, slightly beneath there are strawberry plants, raspberry bushes, pear trees, fig trees, plum trees... At the top, there are strawberry trees and chestnut trees... While working the land is more difficult in mountainous areas, he is assisted in this task by around thirty ewes who contribute to the natural maintenance of the land. A little higher up, lined with chestnut trees, the processing workshop overlooks the estate. This is where he makes his jams and culinary products which can be found in local delicatessens under the brand L’Anghjuledda. In just a few years his reputation, as well as that of his products, has gone far beyond the borders of Pieve d’Ornano.
