The Nasce exhibition workshop, created in 2016, overlooks the magnificent and intriguing beach of Nonza. An idyllic panorama which Florence Arrighi knows all the secrets of. In 2014 she designed Sainte-Julie, a stone sculpture, which was illuminated on 15 August by the inhabitants of the village.
“I started painting small stones with my children - who are a priority in my life as a woman. It was for fun and for educational development. But they stopped, and I carried on!” she laughs. From the very beginning of this self-taught practice, the artist has created this space of freedom - vital for any creative activity - which family commitments, geographical remoteness and all of the restrictions related to her living situation have reinforced.
“Whatever the piece, its shape, materials and inspiration are always linked to the place in a continuous quest for meaning and coherence. The strength of the landscape and the presence of the elements are, in a way, the trail of breadcrumbs that visitors naturally follow,” Florence explains. The Nasce gallery also organises creative workshops for children during the summer months, linking mind and body to the heart of nature.

“Because the most important thing is to find a way to express yourself, wherever you come from and wherever you are,” Florence concludes philosophically.
