After spending the first years of her life between Marseille and Lyon, Florence Santoni-Vittori felt the need to return to her roots; to a place more conducive to the realisation of her dreams and personal ambitions. “I live and work in Corsica in my workshop-gallery, and I’m influenced by the beauty of the surrounding environment. I made the decision to translate my emotional world and this feeling of unity in a place where amazement is never far from reach, and one’s emotions are always near the surface,” shares the artist. 

A naturally curious person, Florence explores different techniques including watercolour, pastel, and earthenware. She shares her knowledge by holding fine arts workshops for adults and children in schools or penitentiaries. For a few years now she has been focusing more on her personal artistic work, and has masterfully experimented in her workshop, bathed in light, with the glazing technique—a technique she appreciates in particular for its fluidity and finesse.

Her works fluctuate between two very distinct but often interdependent worlds. “Nature is my primary source of inspiration and as such can be found in some of my work. But I also have more personal works, where symbolism and dreams play a major role, allowing me to translate the most intimate of my feelings.” An artist and world that deserve unadulterated exploration!
