François Fantoni left his native island in 1985 to seek his fortune in Haute-Savoie. Once in Annecy, he soon discovered that the sun and the sea were two elements crucial to his future life. So off he sets for the Island of Réunion! In Saint-Denis, he meets Fabienne, a young primary school teacher. Their shared taste for flavours and cooking of fresh foods sees them jointly launch l'Agape, a selective greengrocers offering local food tastings, exploring the savoir-faire of the island, but also importing Corsican products.

Seventeen years later, with their daughter Zoe, they move to Corsica. On the Fantoni family estate - from time immemorial, known as “La Vigne” (The Vineyard) because of the vines that their ancestors had planted there – stands the house built in 2009, which François and Fabienne designed and planned. “It was important for us to keep the “village” spirit, with the wood, the stove and the fireplace”, explains the project manager. “It adds a welcoming, intimate, and serene feeling – essential features of a guest house”, adds Fabienne, who also prepares delicious seasonal fruit jams for their visitors.

Set amongst oak trees is Maison de la Vigne, a cosy nest, offering all the tranquillity and the sense of wellbeing for the traveller in search of simplicity!
