Crossing the Palavesa fields, at the end of the road, lies Isabelle Buiret’s small laboratory. At the heart of a peaceful haven, the cheerful and dynamic cultivator harvests and prepares wild plants essential for her creations. Natural, organic, endemic cosmetics!
In 1997, Isabelle decided to leave behind her life as an accountant. Seduced by island landscapes, she thought of settling for a while in the “Extreme South” of the island. “To end up never leaving! I immediately wanted to create a farm here.”
It must also be mentioned that during her childhood Isabelle was initiated into the world of aromatherapy thanks to the concoctions her great-grandmother from Ardèche would invent. “I knew that one day or another, it would be my turn to work with plants in the wild, whilst respecting its preservation.”
Well, that's done! In 2001, Isabelle created Les Simples et Divines and initially experimented with soaps (cold-process soap-making, a first in Corsica!) and moisturising oils prior to embarking upon agricultural training in 2005. “A passport for learning the distilling and mastery of raw materials!”
Today, as well as soaps, floral waters and oils, Isabelle has a range of 12 essential oils. All under the banner of Slow Cosmétique and Nature & Progrès – to achieve beauty differently.
