Karin Luciani is a strong-minded woman! The energy expended at the heart of  Country Horse is immeasurable. At 39, in 2011, this distinguished horsewoman had 30 horses at her converted farmhouse. Passionate and in love with nature, Karin never stops sharing the escapism that a horse ride provides.

As a child, she says she rode in the image of her grandfather, whom she constantly observed at the family-owned ranch. This little girl spent most of her time among the horses. But when Principellu (meaning Prince) arrived at the Luciani residence, this Anglo-Arab created many problems for Karin, who was 11 at the time.

“There’s nothing comparable to getting on a racehorse. It was from that moment that I realised that I was really ‘horse-riding’. My mother decided that I had to learn to ride properly!” After training in equestrian tourism and being mentored, Karin feels at home riding both at the heart of the maquis scrubland or along the beach – an old family tradition! – as well as in competition. “What is very important for me is focusing on the horse’s qualities, kind of like hardware that is suited for a specific situation. The important thing is getting that taste of adrenaline; to form this communion with the animal. This is how I want to train my young riders.” Any takers?
