When Thierry Angot arrived in Corsica with his wife in 1991, he only had to stay for six months – the duration of a training project, but he never left! In fact for twenty years now he has been committed to Corsica’s enchanting nature, where the horse,like himself, seems to have found its promised land.

“I’ve had the opportunity to ride in different regions of France, in particular the Vosges Mountains, but nowhere else have I found such diverse landscapes and such a mild climate as I have in Corsica. Here you can go horse-trekking year-round on varying itineraries between the sea and the mountains, enjoy local products of incomparable quality, meet people who can tell you all about their country with an abundance of villager anecdotes, climb mountains or gallop on a beach, it’s hardly imaginable!” says Thierry.
So, he settled in with his horses and riding boots and created the FAE Équiloisirs equestrian centre with his partner Michel at the foot of the Cortenaises Mountains and the Boziu foothills.

Here, with his team, he gives riders from Corsica or elsewhere the chance to discover this region’s wonders during treks lasting a day or more, and he also passes on the necessary expertise to future guides. Thierry has fifty or so horses in his stables, more specifically Corsican horses that are perfectly adapted to the island’s landscape and climatic conditions.
