Emmanuel Lucchini and Stéphanie Casalta, young forty-somethings, jointly created the farmhouse inn U Santu Pultru (a reference to the ruins of the chapel bearing the same name, slightly higher up the hill). In a friendly and authentic setting, foodies will be able to sample the meat produced by their organic cattle farm and a wide range of local seasonal products.
“We also have a vegetable garden and offer table grapes! Getting to know various producers on the island also makes you realise that we really do have everything on our beloved island!” says Emmanuel with a smile.
This horse enthusiast couldn’t even imagine a future outside of this environment. In 1992, at just 20 years of age, the farmer created his own equestrian farm. Stéphanie joined him in 2008 as a riding instructor. Today, in addition to around fifteen bovines, the farm has twenty-eight horses used for mountain rides, who roam freely in an area of several hundred hectares as a semi-wild herd.
For Emmanuel, it’s a “family affair”. And it is also a philosophy as, for this dynamic and unique couple, life at the heart of Corsican nature is a principle of life!
